Homeschooling: Christian education at home
Many people who consider homeschooling their children are interested in
a Christian education. While the public school system will not allow for
a Christian education in the classroom, many parents feel that the schools
are ignoring the most fundamental part of their child’s education.
By choosing homeschooling you can infuse your child’s learning with
the fundamentals of a Christian lifestyle.
Homeschooling gives you, the parent, the ability to choose what is most
important in your child’s education. If a Christian education is
something that appeals to you, then you can gear your homeschooling curriculum
to incorporate those beliefs and values. Make teaching and learning more
personal by introducing your child to the role of God in their daily
lives. This can be done through literature selections, history lessons,
service learning, character education and the science of the natural
world.
If you are homeschooling and wish to incorporate a Christian education
talk to others you know who may be doing the same. If your church has
a youth minister they may be a valuable resource by sharing their Sunday
school curriculum. Online resources are also available to help you develop
a Christian homeschool curriculum for your children.
