Using Animal Magazines for Kids as a way of Teaching Reading
Most children love animals. If your child seems to be struggling a bit
with their reading, try using animal magazines for kids when teaching reading.
There are animal magazines dedicated to just about every pet and wild animal
imaginable. For the cat lovers, “I Love Cats” or “Cats
and Kittens” magazines could be used for teaching reading, since both
contain informational articles dedicated to all aspects of cat care, training
and grooming. Sometimes your child will be more cooperative and attentive
if the subject matter is something they feel passionate about. Animal magazines

If you have younger children, you can still use animal magazines for
kids when teaching reading, or just for story time in general. A favorite
of children between the ages of 12 months and 3 years old is “Wild

and 12, the “National Geographic Kids” is often found in

geography lessons, how to respect and care for our planets resources,
adventure stories and scientific articles that should encourage your
youngster to read.
